Most people associate the festive season with colors such as red and green and even metallics like gold and silver.

If you are hosting a Christmas party this year and want to look your best, it is worth having a dip into the world of fashion to see which colors and even which trends are in. You don’t have to spend a fortune, but it can be well worth getting yourself a treat as well!

So, which styles, colors, and prints are in for Christmas 2022?

Monochrome

Surprisingly, monochrome made waves at Paris Fashion Week, and prints such as houndstooth were seen among the collections of Yves Saint Laurent and Valentino.

You don’t have to splash out a fortune on plus size designer clothing to be on trend. Even pairing a white shirt with black trousers and enamel earrings or bangles can pull this look off. Perfect for a Christmas party or gathering with friends.

Or Color!

If black and white clothing or prints are not your thing, it can be well worth looking into color. Indeed, 2022 has been a year of colorful, bright clothing, and that trend does not look to be going anywhere anytime soon, especially with the festive season approaching. The most popular colors and hues that were seen at Paris Fashion Week include purples, blues, and reds, meaning that you can add a touch of the traditional Christmas colors to your outfit without going overboard and being on trend.

To pull off your look with brighter hues, you should look to purchase brighter shirts, tops, trousers, and shoes but try to tone down any jewelry, as this can make the look appear overly busy.

Even Goth Is In!

It seems that goth is in too! This means lots of black paired with lace, velvet, and chiffon. You don’t have to go for the full-on Morticia Addams vibe to give yourself a gothic look, though, and even having items such as black necklaces, berets, or gloves without outerwear can add to this look.

Bohemian

Bohemian is somewhere in the middle of colors and goth. The primary things to take away from Paris Fashion Week relating to Bohemian and Christmas are the neutral and natural colors, such as oranges, beiges, and browns. If you’re looking for items of clothing to purchase to give yourself a Bohemian look, aim for ponchos, capes, wool cardigans, and jumpers that are oversized.

It can even be worth investing in a few winter skirts which are below knee length as well.

Blazers

Blazers or workwear have been seen in the collections of many designers this year in the run-up to Christmas. Oversized blazers or extra-long blazers seem to be a piece of clothing of choice for the holiday season. Interestingly, these blazers seem to have been showcased by designers in neutral colors rather than bright ones.

Of course, there is nothing wrong with pairing any of these items with a traditional Santa hat or other festive accessories, so have fun with your look, and have a great Christmas!
