Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana is a vibrant mix of culture, commerce, and cuisine. Its defining feature is its magnificent monuments of the past with their impressive architecture. The city is also bursting with hip bars, clubs, restaurants, and multiplexes that reflect its youthful and vibrant side.

1. Charminar

Charminar has undoubtedly been the most iconic landmark in Hyderabad. This four-story structure, built in the typical Islamic style, was constructed over 400 years ago. It houses a mosque at its top floor. There are many stories about Charminar’s construction.

But the most popular is that Charminar was built in honor of the end of cholera. An interesting legend surrounding this historical edifice states that it contains an underground tunnel connecting it to Golconda Fort.

2. Golkonda Fort

The fort was home to the famous Hope and Kohinoor diamonds. You should not miss the light and sound show that is held here every evening, especially if your children are with you.

3. Wonderla

Wonderla Amusement Park is the best choice for family fun. It is a family favorite and redefines thrill and fun. There are many land rides and water slides that will keep you entertained for the entire day. The most visited attractions in the park are the Wave Pool and Rain Dance sections. The best thing about the park is the number of rides for children that are specially created to keep them entertained.

4. Hatiyan Jhad Baobab tree

In your childhood, you must have heard stories about Ali Baba’s 40 thieves. It would be amazing to tour the hideout of one such gang. This hideout is hidden in a tree, which is the most amazing part. You read it right! Hatiyan Jhad, a large tree that is located within the Naya Qila premises and about one kilometer from the Golkonda Fort, can be found in the Naya Qila premises.

It measures approximately 25 meters in diameter and has a large hollow cavity which can hold 40 people. Legend has it that 40 thieves lived in this tree under the rule of Qutub Shahi rulers. They would come out at night to engage in their dishonest acts, until they were caught. You can still slide down the tree to explore the hollow inside.

5. Ramoji Film City

Ramoji Film City is a family-friendly destination in Hyderabad. It is a unique attraction and the largest studio complex in the entire world. It has been featured in many Indian films. Bahubali, a blockbuster movie, was filmed in this area. This studio complex includes an amusement park, two hotels, and multi-cuisine restaurants. There are also permanent sets. It covers over 2000 acres and is a paradise for all ages.

6. Nehru Zoological Park

The Nehru Zoological Park, also known as Hyderabad Zoo, is home to many animals, birds and reptiles. The park covers 380 acres and is home to the Asiatic Lions, Bengal Tiger, Indian Rhino, Bengal Tigers, Indian elephants, panthers, pythons, and antelopes.

You will enjoy safari trips in the park. The zoo has many attractions for children, including a Jurassic Park, an aquarium, tortoise house, butterfly park and a train.

7. Salar Jung Museum

Salar Jung Museum is proud to be one of three National Museums in India. The museum has a rich and varied collection that includes paintings, sculptures, and ceramics as well as textiles, carvings, and carpets. It also houses metal artifacts, furniture, and clocks from different countries. It is home to one of the largest private collections in the world, and also includes Aurangzeb’s sword and Tipu Sultan’s wardrobe.

8. Chowmahalla Palace

The Chowmahalla Palace, located near Charminar is a complex that includes four palaces. It was once home to the Nizams from Hyderabad. The magnificent palace is a great place to experience the splendor of the Nizams’ lavish lifestyle. Do you and your children enjoy the history of locomotives? The palace also has a collection of vintage cars that includes Rolls Royce as well as other manufacturers.

9. BM Birla Science Museum

The BM Birla Science Museum is a great place to take kids to Hyderabad. It includes a planetarium, science center, art gallery and a museum. The dinosaurium, a new addition to the museum, is quickly becoming a hit with kids.

10. Ohri’s Gufaa

11. Osman Sagar

Osman Sagar (also known as Gandipet Lake) is a tranquil artificial lake that was built during the rule by the last Nizam from Hyderabad. Osman Ali Khan is the reason why the lake bears his name.

You can enjoy beautiful sunsets at the lake with your loved ones. You can also enjoy a day-long picnic there with your friends and family. Osman Sagar is located approximately 25 kilometers from Hyderabad’s city center.

12. KVR Botanical Garden

The sprawling green garden known as Hyderabad Botanical Garden or Kotla Vijayabhaskara reddy Botanical Garden is spread over 274 acres. The garden is home to 600 species of trees and plants, making it a relaxing place. You will love the many sections that contain ornamental, medicinal, timber, bamboo, aquatic, and other plants.
